Thank You

Dear Family and Friends,

We're so happy to be sharing our wedding day with you. As we look towards starting on life together, a celebration with the people we love means so much to us. We appreciate your sharing our special day with us and we can't wait to see you there.

I like to think that I've known that Jill was the one for me for longer than she's realized. I know that I'd been mulling over several proposal options and thinking it out in my mind for a long time before I proposed, or before I'd even looked at rings. I had several possible locations planned to propose, so many different scenarios.

But as soon as I had the ring in hand, I couldn't wait to share the good news with Jill, you see dear friend, I knew we were going to get married. I was a man on a mission, I needed to make this happen because I'd been waiting for much too long. The weekend I proposed Jill's sister, Lisa, was in town; Lisa had helped me to find the perfect ring for Jill. That weekend I needed to be as stealthy as Seal Team 6. I waited for Lisa to go to lunch with her friends, and then I sprung, I brought Jill to Wissahickon park for a hike, as we are wont to do most weekends. I took her to the Margaree Dam (40.060061, -75.220956) to sit on the banks of the Wissahickon creek. I had the ring in my pocket and I knew the time was right, I gave her a pebble from the stream bed as a distraction (Penguins give their mates pebbles, it seemed like a good idea at the time). I was so excited that I got on one knee, and then I just put the ring on her finger without asking. She said yes anyway, even if I didn't ask.

To find a love as silly and complete as ours has been such a blessing. Zach has always been my rock, encouragement and inspiration. We were friends for years before we started dating, and each new chapter has been such a natural progression. We compliment each other's creative passions and challenge each other to be our best selves.

When Zach proposed (penguin style), he took me to the perfect place. The Wissahickon park means so much to us. We have both spent so much time hiking, painting, photographing and volunteering on those trails. Under a very familiar canopy of trees, we agreed to spend the rest of our lives together. Saying yes came naturally.

As Zach and I move forward towards the next chapter in our lives together; we do so enveloped in the love and care from all those who mean so much to us. I cannot possibly imagine this Wedding without the people who have helped guide us into the couple Zach and I have become. We're looking forward to celebrating the beginning of our lives together and sharing a day that we will never forget.

With Love,

Zach and Jill
